Lyn Plummer is an Australian Artist who has exhibited extensively in Papua New Guinea and throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Now based in Ballan, near Melbourne since returning to Australia at the end of 2009. Living in New Zealand for twelve years she was Principal Lecturer and Academic Leader of Painting at the School of Art, Dunedin while exhibiting widely during that period.
While currently heavily involved in many community-based activities as Manager of the Ballan & District Community House, she still finds time to be involved in a range of art activities. She is teaching a four semester Visual Art course for the Adult Community Education Board, through the Community House and she continues to nurture young artists with children’s art classes.
With the assistance of a number of volunteers, Lyn has established the Lesley Batchelor Gallery, a community art space at the Centre, which features a well-appointed exhibition venue. Since then she has curated a number of exhibitions which promote the work of local artists.
She has managed to maintain an active engagement in her own practice and in 2014 she presented an installation of her work at an international exhibition in Bulgaria. Her current work continues to reflect the issues and practice that coalesced in the series of installations presented in a number of venues throughout New Zealand and Australia.
She is currently working with curator and art historian, Domingo Córdoba on a joint exhibition project forecast to be realised sometime in 2021-22
